Why not run for fun and give back to Welsh Hearts at the same time?
Set up your fundraising page
Take lots of photos
Fundraisers with photos on their page can raise up to 14% more per photo.
Tell your story
Tell your story about why you are fundraising. Are you fundraising in memory of a loved one? Do you just want to challenge yourself? Whatever your reason for taking part, we want to hear your story.
Set a target
Fundraising pages with a set target can raise up to 46% more. The sky is the limit! If you set yourself a target of £1500, you could get a defibrillator and cabinet for your community, school or place of work! We’re grateful for every penny you raise, and you can rest assured that all funds you do raise will be spent here in Wales to help us save more lives.
Social media is a fantastic way to spread the word about the amazing thing you are doing, and to get all your friends to sponsor you or donate to your page.
Not everyone is on social media, so don’t forget to share among your friends, family and colleagues for anyone who may not have Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
We strongly encourage everyone to take part in the Santa Dash in fancy dress, but Santa and Elf costumes are just the tip of the iceberg! We’ve had so many creative costumes over the years, from Christmas turkeys to Christmas puddings. We even have Santa and Elf t shirts available to buy this year if you don’t fancy taking part in full costume.
Keep us updated
Tell us how your fundraising is going so we can help you spread the word. We’re always happy to share fundraising pages on our social media channels to maximise donations.
Keep your page updated
Let your supporters know how you are doing by updating your page often. It gives people the chance to follow your progress and see how well you’re getting on with your fundraising efforts.
Encourage others to get involved
It’s even more fun to take part in the Santa Dash with friends, so why not get a team together and fundraise as a group? Remember, if you can fundraise £1500, you can get a defibrillator and cabinet for your community. If you’re able to raise £7000, this would provide a heart screening session for 100 young people, to help detect heart conditions.
It’s not over ’til it’s over
Even after the Santa Dash 2020 is over, you can still collect some last minute donations and sponsorship. Don’t forget to give your supporters and update and to thank them.
